Hello and welcome back. We hope that everyone had a good break.  As I am sure you have noticed, the work on the roof is not quite completed. There have been understandable delays due to the wet weather but they are hopeful of being finished this week. The scaffolding will come down, but the work compound will remain as they then start the work on the boiler room to ensure we do not have a repeat of the heating problems we had last winter.  As far as the inside is concerned, things are looking great. The hall looks like a new hall. And the other changes we have made are all looking good. The children are looking forward to having their Spanish lessons in the new Spanish area. The next project is to create a fantastic library in the space at the back of the dining room.

We are hoping to have a display of past pupils’ achievements to inspire our current pupils. We would love to hear about great GCSE results, college places, completed courses and graduations, business or sporting success, or any other notable achievements. A photograph with a brief explanation would be great. We are all looking forward to another successful year.

Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our school website. We hope you find it useful, informative and interesting. The pupils, staff, governors and parents are rightly proud of the school and the exciting opportunities that we offer. Our school motto is ‘Children First’ and we place that at the heart of all the decisions we make.

Our aim is that, ‘By believing in ourselves and working together, we will strive to achieve our full potential in body, mind, heart and spirit.’ As you look around the site you will see examples of some of the activities that contribute to this. You will be able to find out about Lab_13, our In Harmony project, the Secret Garden, Spanish, ICT, sports activities, after school activities, visits & residentials, and much more.

Dovecote is at the heart of its community and we see your child’s education very much as a partnership. We want to involve families from before the start of nursery to the tearful farewell at the end of year 6 (and even then they come back!). We look forward to seeing you at parents’ meetings, assemblies, concerts, open days, school fairs, and many other events.

Either on the website, or in the pupil planners, we have tried to include all the practical information that you could want to know about our school. If you have a question that is not answered, please get in touch and we will get back to you.

Enjoy exploring the site and getting a flavour of all the great things that happen at Dovecote.
