Latest News

As you know, we recently had our long awaited Ofsted inspection. Overall, we were satisfied with the report, a copy of which can be found be clicking here. It is also available on the Ofsted website as well as on the School Profile page of this website.

We are delighted that, as you will read, the inspectors were very impressed with the variety of experiences that we offer the pupils, especially In Harmony, Lab_13 and Spanish. We were also pleased that they recognised the pupil’s good behaviour, and the great start that our youngest pupils receive in Nursery and Reception.

As with all inspection reports, we have been given some areas to concentrate our improvements on this year. We have already made a good start on some of these areas. We will be getting a visit from HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspectors) sometime in the next few weeks who will judge the progress we have made so far. We will then have another inspection in about a year’s time.

Thank you for your support during the inspection, and since, and your positive comments about the school to the inspectors.

Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our school website. We hope you find it useful, informative and interesting. The pupils, staff, governors and parents are rightly proud of the school and the exciting opportunities that we offer. Our school motto is ‘Children First’ and we place that at the heart of all the decisions we make.

Our aim is that, ‘By believing in ourselves and working together, we will strive to achieve our full potential in body, mind, heart and spirit.’ As you look around the site you will see examples of some of the activities that contribute to this. You will be able to find out about Lab_13, our In Harmony project, the Secret Garden, Spanish, ICT, sports activities, after school activities, visits & residentials, and much more.

Dovecote is at the heart of its community and we see your child’s education very much as a partnership. We want to involve families from before the start of nursery to the tearful farewell at the end of year 6 (and even then they come back!). We look forward to seeing you at parents’ meetings, assemblies, concerts, open days, school fairs, and many other events.

Either on the website, or in the pupil planners, we have tried to include all the practical information that you could want to know about our school. If you have a question that is not answered, please get in touch and we will get back to you.

Enjoy exploring the site and getting a flavour of all the great things that happen at Dovecote.
